DIY: MEET, GREET & EAT PARTY
And so the countdown begins... On Friday, April 20th we hosted a "Meet, Greet & Eat" for our bridal party and immediate family. The date aligned perfectly - 6 months to go before the big day! We didn't want to have a traditional engagement party, but rather something a bit more intimate, casual and low-key.
The idea came to me a few months prior when I was out wedding dress shopping and overheard a group of girls next to me. The bride-to-be was doing her final fitting accompanied by her bridesmaids. They spent half the time playing a round of twenty-one questions.
"How do you know the bride?... Where do you live? ... Where do you work?..."
Quite the entertainment as I waited to try on a few dresses. With all the events in the upcoming months - Bridal Shower, Bachelorette parties and planning.. I thought it would be a great idea to get the group together well in advance to meet one another. Always good to put a face to the name! More on my bridesmaids in another post!
We rented out the "Party Room" in our apartment building, which more than accommodated our 25+ guests. It was a great opportunity for everyone to meet one another, enjoy some good Italian food from Vito's, sip on some bubbles and play some friendly games of pool. Great times had by all!
